trivets...

a few weeks ago, i posted some coasters that i made from tile. i sold a few to a friend from work. she was asking if i made any that were bigger, that could be used as a trivet (you know the things you put pots or hot dishes from the oven on to protect the counter/table). i hadn't thought about it, but told her i probably could. she wanted some to give as gifts and asked if i could make them with dogs on them. so...after borrowing a few dog stamps from chelsea and suzi, this is what i came up with. i made a total of 8, but these are my favorite ones.

(ps i love him...i've named him winston)

stamps: eat cake graphics, hambo stamps, inkadinkadoo, the angel company
ink: jet black & timber brown staz on

summer days...

i am still dreaming of summer. probably because it keeps snowing almost every day. i can't wait to see the sun for longer than a day!! this is my entry in ellie's summer circle journal. hope she likes it! i think i used a record number of blue inks! i also tried embossing with versafine ink, which i didn't know you could do. i love it. it's my new fave black to emboss with. gives much finer detail than either black craft ink or versamark.

summer days!
stamps: hanna stamps, riley, studio g, purple onion stamps, eat cake graphics, kim huges, green grass stamps
cardstock: bermuda bay, soft sky, american crafts pp
ink: baja breeze, buckaroo blue, pacific point, blue bayou, taken with teal, onyx black

and so it begins...

another circle journal swap, that is. this one is a summer theme. i had a hard time coming up with my cj for this theme. i knew what i wanted to do for my pages (then did something completely different as i got going!) but couldn't figure it out for the journal part. i had an idea sunday morning and just went with it. this is the result. now that i look at it, it's kind of minimalist, compared to some of my others. but i love the simplicity of it. and i can't get enough of this cute paper and stamp set from stampin up. i originally used the hemp twine to hold it together during the mailing process, but i think i may leave it once i get it back. i think it's cute!

first class mail...

i have a ton of stamps. i'm not even going to guess how many. so when i was talked in to joining a swap (thanks sherri!) that had to have some sort of mailbox, i thought no problem. oh my. i went through nearly every stamp i own and could not find a mailbox anywhere!! i even went to archivers to find a mailbox stamps and found nothing!! so i had to improvise, since the swap is due in a few weeks. thank goodness for the internet and clip art!! i ended up printing out a little mailbox and just cutting it out and adding it to my atc.

look! an actual card...

it's the first card i've made that i simply stamped on the card and didn't use any layers. i just love the little guy floating in the tube!! he is from eat cake graphics and the bubbles are maryse carrier. i even tried the cloud making technique using a scalloped edge. it looks more realistic in real life! inside says "wishing you a sunshiney day!"
