owlie transformation...

i loved the owlie atc i made so much that i wanted to make it into a card. so here is the result. i printed the sentiment out on the computer (it's the ld mixed font, which i love, love, love!). i made about 7 of these last night at girl's night scrap. it was fun. i think it's one of the few cards i have left this much white space and i really wanted to change it, but i left it alone. i really love this card.

mini stamp club...

so a few of my friends got together last night for a mini stamp club and to scrap afterword. a girl's night out, more or less. we had a blast. it was so fun just to sit and stamp and chat. i miss doing stamp club every month. these are the projects jami created and that we made. we did two cards and a 6x6 layout. i absolutely love the wild about you card! we used the cuttlebug for the background. i definately need to start using it more often.

a cute little owl...

i just love this little owl. and i had the perfect excuse to make something with him (like i need an excuse!) because sherri is hosting an owl atc swap over at the shack. i love the way this turned out. i was trying to figure out a sentiment to put on the atc, but as i was working, i decided i liked it better just plain!! not to mention i think i'm addicted to these dumb atcs!!! i'm also loving the scallop punch!!!

shopping and fun...

my friend chelsea was in town for work things for a few days and we went on some shopping adventures. now, i saw adventures instead of just a shopping trip, because it wasn't an ordinary trip!! we ended up shopping out of a lady's basement!! it was great fun. then we went to this cool lss that i have passed on many occasions, but never gone in. i have no idea why because it was an awesome store!! i got this cute penguin hula stamp and the paper that goes with it. i actually came home and made a card from it. i've never done that before!! i usually get new toys and they stay in the bag for a while. not today!!

{wcymoot2} update...

so a quick update. since work got in the way (why can't i just be infinitely wealthy???) i haven't sent any of the kits out yet. so i'll get them out in the next day or three.

stay tuned!!!

blog of inspiration...

so occasionally, i find a blog that i'm very inspired by. ok, more than occasionally. quite often in fact. so i thought i would share one of the blogs that i love to visit. i check it out often, especially every monday when there is a new video. the blog is by kristina werner. and every monday, she does a video where she makes a card. ironically, it's called make a card monday!!

anyway, if you haven't checked it out before, go visit her blog, kwernerdesign blog. it's amazing.

friend...

this is the atc i originally made for the friendship atc (in the post below) but then i realized i liked it for the other atc swap that includes paper piecing, which christie is also hosting. if you are new to paper piecing, it's simply when you piece paper into areas of your stamped image. you stamp the image on the patterned paper, cut it out, then put it on your original image. in this one, i paper pieced her dress with the polka dot paper. it's a fun technique. it took me a while to figure out how to do it, but i love doing it now!! i'm in about 8 swaps right now and they are all atc swaps, so i'll be posting more of those in the future!!!

friend
stamps: for a friend (su), american art stamps
cardstock: real red, only orange, certainly celery, summer picnic designer paper (all su)
ink: white craft ink, only orange
embellishments: heat embossing, paper piecing

friendship atc...

this is the creation i came up with for the friendship atc swap christie is hosting at the shack. the quote isn't necessarily a friendship one, but i think it fits the theme. i really like the way it turned out.

friendship atc
stamps: sidekick sayings (stampin up) cardstock: soft sky, wild wasabi, spring fling designer paper (all su)
ink: buckaroo blue
embellishments: prima flowers, brads

cupcakes...

so funny story. yesterday i was wanting to make a treat. we had a few cake mixes and i was trying to decide what kind of cake to make. kerry loves white cake, so i was going to do that kind, but then i saw a triple chocolate cake mix. i was craving cupcakes, so i vetod his vote and made chocolate cupcakes since i haven't had those in forever. so i make the cupcakes and that is that. well, we were invited to a party last night for a friend's birthday and guess what they had? yup. chocolate cupcakes. they were amazing! they were from costco and i guess they are a new item there (or new to us, anyway!) they were much better than mine! i thought it was funny that i haven't even thought about chocolate cupcakes in months, then decide to make some and go to somewhere the same day and find them again!!!

ps...these certainly don't look like the costco ones, but they are pretty tasty!

wildfowers...

i was looking out my window this morning and wanted to show you the cute wildflowers growing in our backyard. it is such a nice day today. the sky is an amazing color of blue!!! yipee!!!
