heart...

this inspiration wednesday was a little deceiving.  it seemed so simple when donna made it.  but it was difficult for me for some reason.  it's the first time i actually started over.  probably not my favorite journal entry, but i do love the middle part.  made another stencil for this one, too.

pink forest...

catching up again with inspiration wednesday!  this was such a fun journal page to do.  it has a bunch of office tags layered on the background and it give it a ton of texture.  i love how the colors turned out, so bright and cheery.  the inclusion is a little grungier that i had hoped, but i still like the effect.  i used a color i never thought i would ever use, gold.  it doesn't show up as good in the picture, but it gives a really cool effect.  i didn't have the stencil, so once again, good old silhouette cameo to the rescue.  just typed up a bunch of thoughts and made my own!

be yourself...

gee, that title sounds deep.  it isn't really.  just a stamp on this page so i thought i would make it the name!  this is week 4 of inspiration wednesday (orignal was on 2.18.15) but i'm a slow poke.  i've been way under the weather and it took a while to get these pages done and posted.  but better late than never!  at least it's before the next class, right?!?

like all the past weeks, i was watching the class and wondering what on earth i was going to do for this one.  then i just pretty much started going and didn't stress about it. i didn't have any stencils with words, so i made my own with the silhouette.  easy peasy.

seriously, it's been a week since my last post? time flies so fast when you have a vacation! we skipped town and went to vegas for a few days. it was pure bliss hanging by the pool each day.  here is another birthday card i'm sharing for friends with flair.  i used the silhouette to cut out the balloons.  love that machine.  the stamps used are stars of worn and one of the stamp of the week stamps, hooray it's your birthday.  be sure and see the rest of the fwf participants (clickie, clickie) for a chance to win some free stamps from unity!!

mr moustache...

my cute friend sherri is addicted to mustaches lately.  they are all the rage and she is taking full advantage.  she hosted a mustache atc swap and i used the little owl from this stamp of the week and cut some little mustaches using the silhouette.  i think he turned out kinda groovy.

figured i'd play along (a little late) with this week's friends with flair. and spread the word about the awesome sale they are doing this weekend.  a whole slew of new stamps and a TON marked down!  your crazy if you don't go get you some!  and your crazy if you don't go check out the other fwf posts.

have a good weekend!

snowflakes...

i can't believe i'm finally saying this, but my christmas cards are DONE!!! and with only days to spare!  i swear, next year, they will be done by the 4th of july!!  i had to limit who received cards this year.  because come on...stamps are almost 50 cents a pop!!  so if you happened to be one of my peeps and didn't get a card, consider this an e-greeting!  HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

i saw a card like this on pinterest a while back and of course now i can't find it again to give credit for the inspiration   i cut out a snowflake on the silhouette, then stamped snowflakes on the card.  love the effect.

stashing thru the snow...

there is a craze going around.  everywhere you look, there are little mustaches on anything!  my friend sherri asked at our last get together, "what's with the mustaches?"  now she is a little obsessed with them.  i made her this card for christmas.  (don't notice that there isn't a stamped anything on it!!)  made it mostly with my silhouette.  i used the lettering delights graphic set here.

butterfly kisses...

another world card making day challenge. the challenge here was to create a card that is shaped.  basically, not your regular square or round card.  so i used my trusty silhouette to help cut out a ticket shaped card.  when it's flat, there's a heart in the middle.  (challenge #1 found here)

live inspired...

this is probably one of my favorite pages i've ever made.  at first, i wasn't digging the orange color.  but i wanted to try something i wasn't used to. after i added the yellow corners, i was ready to throw a layer of gesso over it and start over.  i had an idea for the flowers and as it evolved, i fell head over heels for it.  and i can't tell you how awesome it is to make stencils from cool words like this phrase from donna downey using my silhouette cameo.  i think i may have gotten a few of my peeps hooked on the silly machine!

hope.dream.believe

i had an idea in my head to make a trio of 4x4 canvases as a set.  but then i decided to make them individual.  here's how they turned out.  i used my favorite bubble wrap on them.  i cut out a butterfly on the silhouette from vinyl and used it as a stencil to paint.  the trail from the butterfly is india ink that i drew.  the words were painted with some stencils by folkart.

i love when you see something, don't love it, and then play with it and discover you really do love it!  that was how it was with this new set from {ippity}.  at first i thought, "i don't make recipe cards" or any thing like that so what would i use it for.  then i figured out i could just send a card to someone with this sentiment!  light bulb moment!!
