a big happy 65th birthday
to my dad today!!

yesterday was may 17th. past the middle of may. and guess what happened?  yep, snow.  not a lot, but any amount is too much for the middle of freaking may!!! so i thought it appropriate to post a cool (hehe) set of atcs.  i used some glossy accents on the water to give it a wet look.  the picture doesn't show it very well.

butterflies...

i have never had a fondness for butterflies.  i really don't like them much.  even when i first saw these two stamps, they didn't speak to me.  then the other day, i was looking for something and i ran across the sentiment again and it stopped me in my tracks.  it spoke volumes to me.  see, i'm starting out on a new journey.  and i'm making a project about this journey.  now i see these two stamps in a completely different light.  and they will go perfectly in my new project.  i have seen so many cool art journals that people create.  i tried to make something like this, then realized i don't have the artistic ability to do this.  so i started over and went simple.  just painted the page.  it was the next day that i found these two stamps again.  and i just kind of started stamping and this is what came out of it.

don't forget friends with flair over at the unity blog

mini-smash...

if you haven't heard, there is a cute new book/journal type thing coming any day, hopefully!   it's called a smash* book.  click here...for a cool video demo. what i especially love about it is the title...smash* for the moments and musings that stick.  cool, huh, because my blog is for the musings of my creativity!  see that...kindred spriits.  and i am so in love with the red book...known as the doodle book.

anyway, there were some delays with the release of this awesome creation so the fine folks over at k  & company decided to give away a mini-smash* to the followers of their blog.  i was lucky enough to get one.  so i took it with me on my stamping trip so i could show it off to the girls i've been gushing to about the smash*.  and i made a mini-smash* of our trip.  top 10 list and all!!  i'll take more pictures of it and post those, too.  but i wanted to give a shout out to smash* blog for giving my mini smash* a mention (lookie here)!!  how cool is that???  love!

plus you might as well check out there blog often cause you never know when you might win one!

and here's the original post that k & company linked to...
