it's done!!

warning:  lot's of photos!!!
so for those of you that have been following along at home, you know that i've been doing a little remodleing the past few weeks.  thanks to my awesome husband and parents, i got a new craft room as a  graduation present and early 40th birthday present.  it's been a huge undertaking.  going through all the stuff i haven't seen in years and cleaning/purging.  it was great to get it all sorted out and organized.  then i got to design my craft room.  i spent a lot of time looking online and going through ideas of what i thought i wanted.  and spent a lot of time (a lot!) at ikea!!  so after about 4 weeks, it's finally complete!!

which ink...

riddle me this, batman.  you are in the middle of a project and  you need a certain color of ink.  of course, you're not sure which color is going to work like you want it to.  you have about 4 colors to choose from.  how do you remember what they look like?  well, i never can.  especially with distress ink.  with my stand-by ink (stampin up), i know the colors inside and out.  but mr hotlz's ink always stumps me.  i saw this handy tip on someone's blog once.  can't remember who and who knows when it was.  so if this was your idea, leave a comment and i'll give you proper kudos.  made some labels with the name of the ink, then stamped on the label so i could see the color, too.  and i'm an edger (meaning i rarely leave a naked edge...they must be colored!) so i did that as well.  made a pretty cool picture, i think!  i need more, too.  i only have a few...there are so many more!!  (check here)

oh so purdee...

looking good...

some things just make me smile.  this is one of them.  kirsty is hosting an atc swap and the theme was mustaches.  i have been stumped on what to make.  then i was organizing my stamps (don't get excited...only did one little section!) and saw this cute chick.  then i had an epiphany.  this is the result.  the other thing making me smile to day is that it is friday!!  finally!!!  it's been an exceedingly long week.  glad it's over! but also it's friends with flair.  go visit unity and see what the other fwf peeps made.

hard to say...

one of  the nurse practioners i work with is taking a new job out of state and moving.  how do you say goodby to someone who has had such an impact you as a professional and as a person?  she joked that she better not receive a 'hallmark' card from me and although i really wanted to buy one, i couldn't.  i didn't want to make a good-bye card, because that just sucks.  so i made this.  it doesn't even sum up what she has taught me, the times she helped me through something horrible, the times she listened to me vent over something (probably stupid), and the times she let me cry because i didn't feel like i was good enough to do what i was doing but helped me realize i was.  so i'm not saying good-bye.  i'm saying thank you.

i'll miss you, kristin.  and don't slack on the arm pt!!

thank you
