3x3s...

i'm such a sucker for packaging. i'm a merchandiser's dream. package something little and cute and i'm sold. you could almost convince me to buy dirt if it's in a cute package! it only makes sense that i like little cards too! i made a set of 3x3 cards to have around. i'm hoping if i start having all these finished cards hanging around that i will use them more!  you may think they look familiar.  i made a similar set here.  just wanted to use different stamps!

boo 31...

first of all...happy birthday to the cutest best mom in all the land!!

happy birthday, mom!
she rocks!!  so much that i even went to a mary kay party at her house last night.  (for those of you that know me well, you realize how big that is...even more so that i actually bought something, even if it was just lip gloss!!)

friends.with.flair.  that's what friday means to me.  along with other things.  sometimes friday means friday, sometimes it means monday.  that's what happens when you work in a 24/7 establishment.  but this week it means saturday in a way!!  fwf means lots of cool projects from peeps using unity or {ippity} goodness.  and it means some lucky person can win free stamps if them find the magic blinkie and comment!  start back here!   here's my card for this week's fwf.  you may have seen it earlier in the week on the {ippity} blog.  *sigh*  what a fun thing for me!!  hope you all have a good weekend!

christmas tags...

i went to hobby lobby yesterday.  i swear...not even halloween and it looks like someone threw up christmas in there!  and i know it's been like that for weeks already!  crazy.  sherri hosts an annual christmas tag swap.  it's fun seeing all the different ways people make gift tags.  and apparently i'm one of the few that doesn't use them.  i like to keep them while almost everyone else actually puts them on gifts.  my theme was christmas trees.  this is what i made.  i think i'm going to make more, in a smaller version, and actually use them this year!

candy corn...

with it being fall and almost time for halloween, candy corn is all the rage. i don't see it, though. i mean they are cute, but they are disgusting! right up there with those fluffy orange circus peanut candies!! even though i don't like to eat them, i don't mind crafting them! i made these for sherri's "sweet candy corn atcs" swap. i used another digital patterned paper with these, too.

bottom's up...

seriously, the 15th of october so soon?  it was like 5 minutes ago that i posted how fast the summer went, now it's almost winter.  freak!  oh well...it's friday, so friends with flair is always welcome.  for this week, i made a set of atcs for a swap.  shocker, i know.  kirsty, who lives across the world from me, really...in australia, is hosting a "cocktail party anyone?" swap.  her description was this, "sigh* oh to have reason to wear a pretty dress and drink pretty drinks...come to my party! Fancy drinks, fancy dresses, fancy shoes...anything you might need for the occasion. "  i think this little creation fits perfectly!  and thanks to unity having a mega sale last weekend, i got to play with new rubber.  i paper pieced the dress, too.  so hop on over to the other fwf blogs and see what they made this week.  don't forget to look for the blinkie!

hey dude...

funny story about this set of monkey atcs i made for a swap suzi is hosting.  i made a set for this swap, while watching the braves/giants game.  then i started thinking about another set of atcs i made and thought that i may have used the same stamp.  so i started looking through my blog.  and indeed, i did make a set with the same stamp in march.  and the same colors.  and both of them even had stars.  they looked so similar.  and the kicker??  it was also a monkey swap suzi hosted!!  so i decided to make something totally different.  and this is the end result.  if you are curious, here is the swap from march.

i'm having a card party today with some friends and  i needed one more card that we could make. i have a card on my shelf that my cute mom made a while ago, that i love. it's a cute layout and i totally designed this card after hers.  i'm going to try and make a bunch and be better about actually sending birthday cards to people.

beachy goodness...

it's just beachy today.  ok, not really.  but i'm dreaming.  it is friday, though.  friend with flair.  would be better if it were friends with flair hanging out on a beach day.  *sigh*  i'll have to pretend i'm with my friend andrea that went to hawaii yesterday.    but on to fwf.  i have been putting off a set of atcs for a swap suzi is throwing, themed "life's a beach".   i love this stamp from the june kit of the month.  i never quite figured out what to do with it, though.  till now.  i used the emboss resist technique and first embossed the image with clear embossing powder then sponged on different colors of ink.  a cool look with this technique.

here's to friday and the weekend.  go hop on over to the other fwf peeps.  and watch for the special blinkie!

another cocktail?

just floating along...that's the name of the swap that this set of atcs is for.  it's been a bit rainy this week, so sometimes i feel like i've been floating along.  ok, maybe it hasn't rained that much.  but you get the picture.  i'd much rather be doing this sort of floating, however, with a big fruity cocktail!!

to be frank...

october is fun because it means halloween is just around the corner.  i'm not a big halloween celebrator (is that a word??) but i do love halloween stamps!  i'm in a frankenstein atc swap that sherri is hosting.  i couldn't believe out of all the halloween stamps i have, i didn't have one frankenstein stamp!  luckily i found one at michael's last week.  i love it!  it's perfect!  and apparently it's time for some new black ink!!

happy fall...

news flash.  this weekend went by faster than i could say h{ippity} hop!  so here we are with the hop on monday again!  i made a fall card since it is october.  we had weather like summer on saturday (broke a new high with 88!) so it doesn't exactly feel like fall, but probably will this week with all the rain we are supposed to have.  used some nesties and an embossing folder for this card.  h{ippity} hop on to the rest of the projects starting at the {ippity} blog!

wcmd...

happy card making day!!  of course i've spent most of the day sanding and staining our deck.  i thought about sneaking some stamping on it, but then decided my husband might not love that.  so i'm going to play in my craft room tonight and whip out some cards.  i'll post them soon!  here's what i did work on today!

Oct 1, 2010

happy halloween...

pinked up my blog for octber!  do you like?  now, three words...friends with flair. and two more...it's friday! woot woot! if all goes well, i'm at work today. which seems like a silly thing to be happy about, but we've been a little slow lately (yea for the kids!) so i don't think i've worked my full three shifts in weeks! so i'll be glad if i am working! but back to fwf...i absolutely love love love the september kit of the month from untiy. i used two stamps from it on this card. i love that this crow can be halloweenie or not.  i distressed the edges of everything to give it a little grunge look.  i thought it looked cool!  go visit the other fwf blogs by starting here.  and if you live in the area and are bored tomorrow, come grab a paint brush with me to stain my deck!!

ps happy birthday to my shackie sis, suzi!
