looking for something to do on the eve of the nation's independence celebration? why not make a card?  i know nothing screams "it's the 3rd of july" like a challenge with the {ippity} chick over at the   chick challenges blog!!  (what can i say...i'm feeling much better!!)  i made this card today for such an occasion.  and i don't know that i'll ever get tired of this {ippity} set, angie girl:  dream with your heart. works perfect with this donna downey stamp.

here's the card i made for this challenge.  my friend christie had her tonsils out last week so i made this to send her.  i saw a cute die for a flower box somewhere (who knows where!).  actually i think it was a window die, but i saw it turned into a flower box.  so i tried making my own out of cardstock.  i used a little white paint over the crumb cake cardstock to give it a white-washed effect.

so i made a card the yesterday. i made it for the latest challenge over at the at the {ippity} chick challenges blog.  i showed it to my husband after complaining about having lost my mojo.  his reply was "well, it's not your best work!"   gotta love brutal honesty from your hubby, but he was right.  so i tossed that card and spent the day shopping with him instead.  i made another attempt today, and this is what i made.  it is a HUGE improvement over the one i tossed!!

what an amazing weekend i just had...full of friends, stamping, laughing, a little lot of silliness.  it's so good for the soul to do that now and then!!  and i was pretty productive as well!!

i'm so lucky to have the amazing group of crafties that are also good friends.  thanks, peeps, for the awesome trip!!  can't wait until next year!!!

it's hard to believe i have some {ippity} stamps that have never been ink, but it's true.  i love the set straight from the heart  but i have never used it.  crazy.   i made this for our anniversary last week and finally used it.  it's true...my husband stole my heart.  inside says:  and i love you more today than yesterday.  aww...i'm a hopeless romantic, i know!!

do you know what i love about challenges?  it gets me thinking of ideas that i never would have thought about.  take this card for example.  i made it for  this week's challenge (cc19) over at the {ippity} chick challenges blog.  and as i was taking a picture to post here, i thought of two more sayings i want to use with the exact same card.  love the chick challenges!!  and now that {ippity} is available on the unity website, more of you are getting some {ippity} goodness!  so you should play along with the challenge!  i think this is the first time i've ever made a project with only patterned paper.  i think it turned out pretty cute!

i actually did a little crafting this weekend and it was nice.  i didn't get much done last week since it was a crazy busy week (luckily i had extra crafties i could post throughout the week!).   one of my friends is having a rough patch, so i'm sending this to her.
