summer days...

i am still dreaming of summer. probably because it keeps snowing almost every day. i can't wait to see the sun for longer than a day!! this is my entry in ellie's summer circle journal. hope she likes it! i think i used a record number of blue inks! i also tried embossing with versafine ink, which i didn't know you could do. i love it. it's my new fave black to emboss with. gives much finer detail than either black craft ink or versamark.

cardstock: bermuda bay, soft sky, american crafts pp

snowman tags...

sometimes i just get stumped by a swap. this was one of them. i have a ton of snowman stamps, so you would think it would be easy. but i couldn't figure it out! maybe it was the size that threw me off. they were to be 3x3 tags. and i didn't want to make a 3x3 card. i love this snowman from purple onion. it's one of my favorites. and i remembered i had this tag stamp, so i wanted to use it. trying to get them to fit together was a challenge, but i did it. and it made me use more brads, which i rarely use anymore!

snowman tag

christmas and atcs...

i'm finally finishing up the bazillion swaps i had that were due in the past few weeks. whew!! here are a few that i've done in the past few days. i had more fun with fun flock (it's hard to tell, but the moose's hat has it) and i even broke out the glitter. i'm starting to be more patient with glitter. i bought some of martha stewarts chunky glitter, so it's not as fine and annoying. plus i put it in a ziploc storage container and just spoon it on over the container so it's much less messy. this is what i do with embossing powder, too, and it's so much easier on clean up!

stamp club...

yesterday, my friend jami, held a stamp club/party thing at her house. it was great to go. i stopped going to my monthly stamp club last summer after we bought our new house because i didn't really have any extra money for stamp club anymore. and i have missed it deeply. i don't know if i missed the stamping part so much, as the getting together with everyone on a regular basis. so me and my cute mom decided to go yesterday. it was great fun!! we did three projects, 2 cards and 1 scrapbook page. well, i only did the cards because i'm not a huge scrapbooker. they were all great projects, though! jami is great at making up projects (you can see them here on her blog).

well as it turns out, i was making one of the cards and not following my one cardinal rule of stamping things before assembling them, i screwed up my stamped sentiment. so i had to "fix" it. here is what i ended up with. i actually really like it!!!

i then came home and decided i liked the design of the card so well, i wanted to create one similar. so i thought about what i wanted and this is what i came up with. totally case'd from jami's card. but isn't that the best type of flattery?? i think so!!!

supplies used: stampin up and green grass stamps, stanpin up cardstock, ribbon

a little christmas decor...

so as you've read before, i'm in a holiday circle journal swap with some friends from over at the shack. well, the themes are getting hard to figure out what to do for a layout!! this is for sherri's journal. she wanted to know what our favorite christmas ornament is. so here is my version. i'm trying to find a picture of the tree when it was all decorated, but i don't remember if i ever took one!!!
stamps used : maryse carrier-tree with star, star; green grass stamps-the red tree on the background, that you can't see well; memory box-christmas tree scene.

edit: don't you hate it when you make a typo and don't find it until your project is complete?? argh!!! how to fix it...
