earlier this year, i hosted a circle journal swap that was a summer themed cj. i recently found my last entry and never posted it. it was such a fun swap and i really need to take pictures of my completed cj. i love it!

i'm sad to say that the summer circle journal has come to an end. i made my last set of pages for cindi's cj and now it is on it's way back to her. her theme was 'favorite summer recipes'. this has been a fun swap, because everyone's theme was a little different, but all relating to summer. i got my cj back a few days ago and it is absolutely amazing!! i will post pictures in the next day or two of the finished project. i love it! and sadly, i have decided to take a break from cjs for a little bit. it will be nice, not having a deadline every three weeks to create and get in the mail! but i'm sure it won't last long...i realized when i was done that i didn't have very much stamping on these pages! and i'm secretly (or not so secretly now...) in love with some of the new cosmo cricket papers! so fun.

sometimes people ask me if i scrapbook. i usually just laugh. i am definitely not a scrapbooker. i've tried. can't do it. this is the best i can do at an attempt of scrapbooking. it's for the summer circle journal (that is swiftly coming to a close). this is my entry for joanne's cj. she wanted something about our favorite childhood summer memories.
speaking of childhood, and not having one if it weren't for my cute dad being born, i'd like to wish him a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
happy birthday, dad!!

i seriously can't wait for summer to get here. or at least i can't wait to have a least 7 consecutive days with sun and warm temperatures!! so i must create a page or two about it! these are for sherri's summer themed circle journal and i used a mix of regular and digital stamps. i know...in two months i'll be complaining about the heat. but not as much as i complain about the cold! i just realized i inked no edges on this whole project. that is a first for me.
happy moments stamps: unity, studio g digital stamps: hambo stamps cardstock: crushed curry, baja breeze, sassafrass lass pp ink: onyx black embellishments: prima flowers, stickles, sassafrass lass cardstock stickers, embossing powder, crystal effects, prismacolor markers
i am still dreaming of summer. probably because it keeps snowing almost every day. i can't wait to see the sun for longer than a day!! this is my entry in ellie's summer circle journal. hope she likes it! i think i used a record number of blue inks! i also tried embossing with versafine ink, which i didn't know you could do. i love it. it's my new fave black to emboss with. gives much finer detail than either black craft ink or versamark.
summer days! stamps: hanna stamps, riley, studio g, purple onion stamps, eat cake graphics, kim huges, green grass stamps cardstock: bermuda bay, soft sky, american crafts pp ink: baja breeze, buckaroo blue, pacific point, blue bayou, taken with teal, onyx black embellishments: prismacolor markers, clear embossing powder
how i want to spend my summer...that is the theme of patty's summer circle journal. i decided that how i want to spend my summer and how i actually will spend my summer are probably going to be two very different ways. so i created this entry accordingly!!

another circle journal swap, that is. this one is a summer theme. i had a hard time coming up with my cj for this theme. i knew what i wanted to do for my pages (then did something completely different as i got going!) but couldn't figure it out for the journal part. i had an idea sunday morning and just went with it. this is the result. now that i look at it, it's kind of minimalist, compared to some of my others. but i love the simplicity of it. and i can't get enough of this cute paper and stamp set from stampin up. i originally used the hemp twine to hold it together during the mailing process, but i think i may leave it once i get it back. i think it's cute!
