trivets...

a few weeks ago, i posted some coasters that i made from tile. i sold a few to a friend from work. she was asking if i made any that were bigger, that could be used as a trivet (you know the things you put pots or hot dishes from the oven on to protect the counter/table). i hadn't thought about it, but told her i probably could. she wanted some to give as gifts and asked if i could make them with dogs on them. so...after borrowing a few dog stamps from chelsea and suzi, this is what i came up with. i made a total of 8, but these are my favorite ones.

(ps i love him...i've named him winston)

spot of tea...

would anyone care for a spot of tea? (said with my best british accent) i thought that was a cute title for this set of atcs. the theme for this swap was coffee or tea. i found the cute word stamp at michael's and thought it would be good for something. turns out it works well with this little spotted tea pot!!

childhood summer...

sometimes people ask me if i scrapbook. i usually just laugh. i am definitely not a scrapbooker. i've tried. can't do it. this is the best i can do at an attempt of scrapbooking. it's for the summer circle journal (that is swiftly coming to a close). this is my entry for joanne's cj. she wanted something about our favorite childhood summer memories.

speaking of childhood, and not having one if it weren't for my cute dad being born, i'd like to wish him a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

happy birthday, dad!!

hey, friend...

i hate to even admit this, but you can find some stamps and craft goodness in some pretty odd places. like this stamp of the little turtle, the one standing on the rock (yes, that's a rock...or my interpretation of one!) it's from a set of stamps that ek success has released from the american girl line. yep, even the american girl is getting in on the stamping action! i saw them at michael's and love the little animals that were in the set. go figure.

friends or foes?

that is the question this camper will want to find out when they either wake up or return to their tent! i made these for marie's "rustic woodsy lodge" swap. it had to be something from like the back woods (i'm thinking no modern conveniences sort of thing) with wildlife all over. what do you think? i really should have called this "maksing madness" since it was a ginormous pain in the butt maksing everything. but it was worth it in the end. i also distressed the edges to make it look more 'rustic'.

egg tree...

for some reason, i couldn't sleep this morning, and was up at 7am (on my day off!). so i hit my craft room early and got inky making cards. i've made so many atcs lately, that i had to get my mind working on something bigger than 3 1/2 x 2 1/2! i made a few of these for a lady at work who wanted some eastery cards.

king of the road...

another great challenge for me. i thought when i signed up for christie's swap of manly themed atcs, it would be a breeze. whatever. i found a little stamp set that would be perfect a few weeks ago. and now it is nowhere to be found. good thing it was only a dollar! so i went through my stamps and figured this one would work. i used some platinum all purpose ink by tsukineko on the trailer to give it that kind of airstream feel. i distressed the edges a bit, too.

tropical paradise...

i've mentioned before my love of penguins. they are adorable. in any shape or form. i'm hosting a perky penguin atc swap and this i my creation for it. i just can't stand how cute this penguin is! i love the shell bikini top!!

guess what?

this is an atc i made with traditional rubber stamps and digi stamps. i think the buzzword is "hybrid stamping". whatever it is, i like both versions. the digi stamp is by heather ellis, who also designs for one of my favorite stamp companies, my favorite things. this stamp is from her 'pure innocence' set. i made these atcs for my "a little birdie told me..." then i realized there is only a tiny bird on it, but it fits so well!!

let it snow...

so i did something i've never done before. i completely forgot about a swap i'm in. i'm so glad suzanne emailed everyone about 10 days before it was due as a reminder, otherwise, i would have completely forgotten!! the theme was "a little flakey!" and had to include snowflake stamps. i embossed the background snowflakes and i used crystal effects on the snowman to make them shiny.

spooky!

i had a hard time coming up with an idea for chris's spooky atc swap. i liked my r.i.p. atc i made for sherri's crow swap, so i kind of did something similar. i bought the martha stewart bat punch many months ago and just haven't figured out how to use it yet on a card or atc. so i experimented and this is what i came up with. i can't believe how many stamp companies are on this little creation!

r.i.p...

had a hit of late night creativity. whipped out two sets of atcs and my cj (cutting it close, i know!). this set of atcs is for sherri's cawing crows swap. i got this cute little bird that has a star dangling from it's mouth (which i think is probably a christmas stamp!)so i left off the star and made it more crow-like!! i don't usually make flat single layer things, but i like how this turned out.
