saturday night shuggy snacks {9-29}

it seems that everyone likes to do remakes of tv shows, comics or old movies. for example, spiderman, batman, superman, the bad news bears, king kong, sabrina, the longest yard...the list is endless. so todays questions is this:

if you could remake your favorite old movie, comic or tv show into a movie, what one would you do?

leave a comment and i'll draw a random winner for a little prize.

here is the fine print: please post a comment with your entry and include an email (or email me your email) link or link to your website where i can email you if you are the winner. if you don't leave a way to contact you, your entry will be tossed. i will pick a winner from the comments on sunday, sept 30, around 8pm mst.

20 peeps have to say:

I like the old stuff at it is. Why remake such good memories? I always enjoy the original more than the remakes. You can't remake Andy Hardy, Nancy Drew, Dracula, To Kill a Mockingbird and have them as meaningful in today's action-packed colored movies. The one TV show I really liked that got turned into a couple of movies was Pee Wee's Playhouse.

I love Hitchock movies. I love that they are full of suspense without showing guts and sex stuff. If I redid one, I would modernize the story and keep the suspense without all the violence and naked stuff.

My So Called Life or Freeks and Geeks ... maybe even a sequel with them all as adults.

Well, I don't really know of any movie or tv show. But my favorite comic was Family Circus (is that still around?). So, I would probably make it into a movie :D

Would keep the oldies just as they are - Love them that way. But Alias as an updated movie would be cool!! I miss that show.

Honestly, I usually hate remakes - I like movies/TV shows in their original form, for the most part. I mean, who could replace people like Lucy or Vivien Leigh?? Seriously?

remakes suck. I have yet to see one I liked. Sequels are usually okay if they have the original actors like Star Trek or that stuff, but I get so mad when writers, actors and directors think they can take a classic and fix it. Only in the US do we tear apart stuff like this. Write something new america!

What fun. My friend and I were talking about this same thing as we drove 2 hours from an all day crop ....we decided that she liked Courtship of Eddie's father & I liked Wanda Wanda...no one ever knows Wanda Wanda though...

I tend to agree with what everyone else said about remakes sucking. lol I usually find that the remakes aren't near as good as the original. Sometimes even making a fav book into a movie sucks. I didn't like Horse Whisperer (it was nothing like the book) or Flowers in the Attic (really nothing like the book). But once in awhile a really good movie comes along and when the ending happens I want more. I'd love to see Pretty Woman Part 2 & How to Lose a Guy in 10 days Part 2. Thanks for a fun question.

I would like to see a movie of Archie and Jughead. I loved that comic book growing up. It would be fun to see them in action.

Wonder Woman! I would make it darker kind of like Batman Begins. How cool would that be?!

My favorite old movie is the musical "My Fair Lady" with Audrey Hepburn. It would be fun to see it remade, although "Pretty Woman" is a version of the similar story line.
Thanks Angie!!

I would love to see a movie version of Ed (which was one of my favorite TV shows) or American Dreams (another favorite...why does NBC cancel all of my favorite shows!) Thanks for the chance to win!
