random acts of kindness...

random act of kindness   pay it forward.  what does that mean to you?  to me, it means doing something that will make another person happy or just put a smile on their face.  i don't know why people don't do these things more often.  it's not like  you have to even spend any money to do this.  a simple gesture can be a rak or pif.  know what i mean?

it's not a secret that i love unity stamps.  and i seem to have gathered quite a collection of stamps so i'm going to offer up a grab bag of unity goodness. what i ask in return for a chance to win is simply to pay it forward.

this stems from this post by rhonna farrer, #rhonnadesigns who is simply quite amazing.  today is her birthday and she offered an awesome gift to celebrate (check it here!).  all she wanted in return, was to share the love.  so i did.  i went to starbucks to get me a cup of pumpkin spice deliciousness and my pay it forward/random act of kindness/share the love was to pay for the person who was behind me in the line.  it was awesome.  the thing i loved most about it???  the starbucks girl thought it was so cool she was giddy!  and she shared her enthusiasm with her coworkers and they all came to the window to thank me.  how neat is that?  so not only did one simple act make the recipient happy (hopefully!) it made the starbucks girls happy too!!

so back to the free unity grab bag of goodness. here are the rules. you have until november 3rd at 11:59pm to enter.  what you must do is comment on this post and tell me what rak/pay it forward kind of thing you did.  i will draw a random winner.  if there are more than 10 people who participate, i'll draw two winners. and if there's more than 20, another!  so pass this along to your friends.  after all, what do you have to lose??  make more people happy??

so #spreadthelove #rak #payitforward #sharethejoy do whatever it is you do!

thanks...so much...

my friend nancy is involved with a project where they make blankets for troops in combat support hospitals.  attached to each quilt is a card for the sender to write a message on.  a couple of years ago, nancy asked her stamping friends if we would be interested in making some of the cards.  of course we jumped at the chance, so each year we make some.   here is my version for this year.

thanks...so much
stamps: stampin up
cardstock:  vintage violet, cherry cobbler, very vanilla

blankets for the troops...

my friend nancy is involved with a very cool project called blankets of hope. they have volunteers that make fleece blankets and send them to combat support hospitals all around the world. with each blanket they make, they need a note card to attach to the blanket. the volunteers write a little note to whoever is going to be receiving the blankets. nancy is in charge of the notecards, so she asked those of us on the stamp shack if we wanted to help. the response was amazing!! her goal was 350 cards, but i think that she may be getting more than that! here are the cards that i made to send in.

thanks.
stamps: {ippity}
cardstock: bordering blue, 3 bugs in a rug pp
ink: bordering blue, cranberry crisp, night of navy

a few cards...

i've been quite the productive girl today. i did some homework, got some laundry done, finished up an atc swap and made a few sets of cards. i needed some cards that could be either thank yous, just becauses or cheer ups. i think these two can fit into any category. i love the flopsey bunny. his ears just make me smile. and if you haven't noticed, i can't get enough of the little girl from heather ellis. it's another digi stamp.

thinking of you...

lately, i have loved making my atcs into cards. i've done it a few times now. i don't know if it's because i love the idea or if it's because the atc just screams it needs to be a card too. anyway, i made made some cards to send to my friend lesa, who i posted about earlier, so she can send them on to people for encouragement. i used the atc i made as a template. i hope she likes them!!

i was rak'd...

you may not know the term rak'd. it means random act of kindness or basically someone did something nice for you for no specific reason (similar to that pay it forward movie!). allilson, over at stampin' when i can, sent me the cutest package of goodies. she said she saw this sheet of stickers and immediately thought of me. so she sent them to me with a bunch of ribbon, some embellishments, a cute balloon stamp, a little altered notebook that is adorable and a card. isn't that the sweetest thing?? here's the other thing. i have never met allison. up until i started blogging, i didn't even know her. but through the wonderful world of blogging and the internet, i have made several friends around the world such as allison.

thanks, allison!!!

i've been shack'd! (and rak'd)

if you aren't familiar with those two terms, a rak is a random act of kindness (or someone who does something nice for you for no reason). being shack'd is the same as a rak, but it comes from people who hang out on the stamp shack. having said that, sherry is the creator of the stamp shack and a wonderful human being!! i've had a string of yuckiness over the past few months so she thought i needed to be rak'd/shack'd. she sent me the cutest little card set i've ever seen! and the cutest 'thinking of you' card! she is awesome!!
