little things...

this weekend has been one like i've never experienced before. emotions are a funny thing. they are so exhausting but you don't really realize it until later. they kind of sneak up on you. it's also been nice to spend a lot of time with my family. on saturday, i spent most of the afternoon with my mom. we made a whole ton of thank you cards for various things related to my grandma. i totally case'd a card from the {ippity} blog because they were both adorable and simple. easy to mass produce. i wasn't going to do the h{ippity} hop this week because i didn't know if i'd have time. then, i had an idea. we wanted to make some special cards for the nurses that took such amazing care of my grandma. i saw this sentiment and i knew it would be perfect for that reason. so this is the card for those amazing people and for my h{ippity} hop. be sure to visit the rest of the creations on the hop...start back at the {ippity} blog.

presents and trees...

here are the finished projects i mentioned in my previous post about the glitter. sans the glitter. i went for no glitter on one and embossing powder on the other. something that is much easier to control than glitter. i also decided to try something new. i'm an edge inker. i hate having uninked edges. almost all my stuff is inked. so i tried embossing the edges of this atc. i love how it worked out. i used versamark to ink the edge just like regular ink, then ran it through some embossing powder and viola! embossed edges! and who knew a window stamp could work for a present?

presents
stamps: memory box
cardstock: going gray-su; candy apple-bazzill; pebbles pp
ink: versamark
embellishments: silver embossing powder, silver elastic cord

i used paper piecing on the tree, too. much cuter than the glitter i tried! i had origianlly tried to do something similar, using a glue pad and stamped the image and added glitter. each section of the tree a different color. but the glitter didn't stick all over. and it look horrid. i did add a speck of stickles to the this set, after i took the picture. i tried it on one of the stars on the trees, then decided i liked it!
