in search of...

the perfect coloring tool. that's what i want. what are your thoughts, ideas, suggestions? i have tombow markers, but i get too many lines from them. does that make sense? the stampin up markers give me lines too. then i ruin the paper trying to smooth them out. i have a handful of prismacolor markers and absolutely love those. but they are so expensive! and don't coordinate to the colors i use most (stampin up!). i prefer markers over colored pencils for the brightness. whenever i use pencils and mineral sprits, i can't seem to get it as deep of a color that i want.

so lay it on me. do i need to just give in and pay for the whole prismacolor set? what is your ultimate coloring tool?
help!

I'm very interested in everyone's comments. All I usually use is SU markers (since I am a matchy-matchy girl) but I have the same "line" problem. I have never owned any prismacolors...pencils or markers.

I have heard great things about the Copic markers but have not personally used them. They are a little pricey as well and I am not sure if there are color matches for SU. Jami...you have to try the prisma colored pencils they ROCK!

I have the same problem and I started using the blender pen and it seems to help. Sorry I can't help, but you might check out Splitcoasters...they seem to have everything. Here's one I found

Hope this helps.

Good Luck!

I have not used copic markers because I bought a lot of the Prismacolor markrs and love them. Both are expensive but since I have a lot of the prisma and really like them, I'll stick with them.

I like my pencils with gamsol and my pens but I am lusting after the Copics-there are a couple of good deals on ebay---if you love something a lot and use them a lot, then stick with them. and use a coupon!

I'm waiting to hear the answers to this also! I have SU markers and I have some prisma watercolor pencils that I like to use with my blender pens. I haven't gotten into the gamsol thing (because I have no clue what it is!) and I am wary of spending so muvh on the copics....hope to hear something interesting!

I say save up and BUY what you love. :)

I only have the SU markers, b/c they are all I can afford, but I have heard wonderful things about copic markers. Or you can always do the prismacolor, gamsol thing, even though that may be more time consuming.

I love my Tombow pens, but you need good quality watercolour paper.
I use a smooth cardstock called blender card and it works beautifuly with the tombow pens.

You could go to the blog Polished to Perfection (murdocks.typepad.com) She has a lot of information on her blog about Copic Markers. You could also email her and ask her questions. She is very knowledgeable about these.

I have used Tombo, Prisma and Copic and the best by far are the Copic!! I now own a rather large collection and will never go back to anything else.

I just saw someone post that
copic markers do match the SU
colors...
That is what I want to try.
Good Luck!
