girlfriends...

it's the middle of winter.  blah.  anyone who knows me knows i'm not a fan of winter.  and give me a scene like this any day.  sitting, laughing, chatting it up, preferably with a tasty umbrella drink in my hand with some girlfriends by a pool or beach.

i think this may be the first time i've completed a bunch of challenges for world card making day. it's been fun to stretch my imagination. i've done a ton of art/canvas journaling and mixed media stuff lately, so getting back to cards has been fun.  this card is for the color challenge.  you had to make a card using cream, pumpkin, olive and brown. i used stamps from this smak kit and this kotm.  love them!!

today...

it's been too long since i've done a page in my gratitude journal. i did this page at my crafty retreat two weeks ago. i'm thankful for {today} everyday, but i loved that day because i was with my favorite peeps. and every time i see this page, i'll be reminded of that.  take a peek at the rest of the gratitude journals here.

pumpkins...

nothing says fall like pumpkins.  for some reason last year, i didn't have any.  not going to let that happen this year...i'm going to get a bunch for my porch as soon as i see them!  here's a card using this week's {ippity} fabulous feature, fall for you. be sure and check out what the other chicks have created over at the {ippity} blog.

can you believe that in two weeks and a day it's chrsitmas eve? ok, starting to panic.  i got some christmas cards done this week, but not nearly enough!!  i have worked on something that was not my usual  genre though.  i saw this awesome mixed media canvas that christy tomlinson did and i fell in love with the idea (here's a link to it),  so i figured i'd give it a shot.  i have to say i learned a few things creating this.  a) not matter if you think you have enough mod podge, add more.  i was never using enough!  b) distress ink isn't the greatest to mod podge over!  but there are no mistakes in crafting, right?  i think it just adds character.  c) this mixed media stuff is messy, but so much fun!  it's so cool to see the layers come alive.

so when i first saw this stamp, it didn't jump out at me (like some do).  but i'm a compulsive unity sale kinda girl, so i had to get it when they had their last sale. and now i've fallen in love with it!   i needed to make a set of atcs for a swap with a number theme.  of course, i had two other stamps (also from unity...go figure) that i was going to use, then i decided to see what i could do with this one.  i feel kinda like  i cheated because it's a pretty basic atc, only used one stamp.  but i added a few things to give it some character.
