i'm so sad...i have such a great porch on my house and i didn't get outdoor lights put up. i would do it now, but i don't think it's worth it for only a week or so. next year i'll have to do it much earlier!!!
how about another little poll?? this will be a two part poll.
- colored lights or a single color on your christmas tree?
- colored lights or a single color outside on your house?
12 peeps have to say:
Clear on both, I like the clean sparkly image it provides. ~Marie
Colored on both. I'm very over white lights! However, I did decide last year that I wanted red & white lights on my yard light & the holly bush next to it.
Blue on both. It just adds a special mood.
Clear lights on both trees inside. Colored lights outside.
Hi Angie-
I have all white lights on my tree, but outside we have multi colored garland lights and they are so fun. I think they make the house look like a gingerbread house in a fairy tale. I love 'em!
Much to my husband's dismay, I love clear lights on both the tree and the house. I think it reminds me of a clear starry sky. I also think clear lights seem to sparkle more. I hate blinking lights, though...they give me a headache!

I found industrial LED lights cheap at a hardware store (I didn't like the little LED lights for outside lol) so I have them in colours! and I have coloured lights for my tree! I love to buy LOTS of lights and I string them in and out of every bow of the tree!
I love em all!!!! I have both clear and colored on my tree now. Outside I have all. I love Christmas lights of all kinds, shapes and colors. My husband thinks I am nuts cause I oohh and ahhh over even a single strand strung on someone's porch.
Inside I'm strictly white or clear. Actually, my mum's tree is a combo of pearl lights and clear.
Outside, if it were up to me, no lights on the house. I just like a giant wooden nativity with a light shining on it. But, my family does the white icicles.
Clear inside. Color craziness out.
Hi Ang. Hope it's ok I'm commenting; I thought it was bout time to join the blogging bandwagon.
I've always been a white lights girl inside and out--but all my icecle lights died (Toby threw them away in a fit of post-holiday rage!) and now I'm ready to jazz it up a bit. Our plan for next year is all green and white lights (the BIG bulbs)! (We had planned red and white ones, but our entire neighborhood went totally candycane this year...now it's too overdone!)
I like coloured lights on the tree and a single colour, white, outside. You can't do it all when you first move into a new house. You'll be there years, so next year will be fine for decorating.
