ever feel like you are stuck in the muck and need to "just keep swimming" to get out?   thanks to certain  fish with a short attention span (hmmm...ring a bell?), i find myself saying that mantra a lot!!  i made this card for the diecut diva blog using a cool fishbowl card base from creative cuts & more.  (find post here).  i used an awesome {ippity} set that was perfect for the fishbowl!

i haven't made a lot of atcs in the past few months, but i do have a few swaps coming up.  so it's been nice working with the small little creations again!  i made this set of atcs that had to use distress inks.  i used watercolor paper and then embossed the images.  i colored the whole thing with the new distress markers from tim holtz.  then i spritzed them with water.  love that effect.

one thing about these markers.  i wasn't that impressed the first few times i used them.  maybe it was because i really didn't know how to use them or what, but the more i've played with them, the more i like them.  it's fun to color stamps with them and get a multicolored stamped image.  and making the background of these atcs was a breeze!!  i also love this saying.  makes me happy.

do you know how excited i am that it's friday??  my craft room has missed me terribly this week.  work just gets in the way of craftiness sometimes.  and because of a little major snowstorm wednesday night and a little mishap with a snow packed road, a patch of ice and a curb, i'll be spending today getting my jeep a new alignment.  instead of inking up a bunch of new rubber!!  but i did get one card made this week.  i used the feb kit of the month. i think it may be one of my favorite kits!  so go check out the rest of the friends with flair peeps over at unity.

holy friday batman!!  don't you love when you have an idea in your head and it actually comes out better than you thought? i've been organizing my stamps (a way overdue project!) and i saw this cloud stamp from the may 2010 unity kotm.  i can't believe i have only used it maybe once!  it's so cute!  i also love this color of baker's twine.  of course, i can't think of the color off the top of my head, but it's cute! it's fwf today, so check the unity blog for more fun projects. a big happy 65th birthday

yesterday was may 17th. past the middle of may. and guess what happened?  yep, snow.  not a lot, but any amount is too much for the middle of freaking may!!! so i thought it appropriate to post a cool (hehe) set of atcs.  i used some glossy accents on the water to give it a wet look.  the picture doesn't show it very well.

do you love when you remember a cool thing you've done before but forgot about? that's what happened when i saw the unity tv episode on magic embossing. i've done this technique before, but kinda forgot about it! so when i had to make a card for the h{ippity} hop, i figured i would give it a shot. and i love how it turned out!  i'm so in love with wild honey, broken china and peeled paint distress ink.  go check out the rest of the creations in this week's h{ippity} hop!

drove home in a blizzard last night from work. not thrilled that it's snowing already, but what can i expect living in the place with "the greatest snow on earth" according to our license plates. so with snow, comes christmas, eventually. these atcs are for a reindeer swap i'm hosting. love the little reindeer!
