chocolatier...

no, not chocoholic, although i am one of those..what's a chocolatier you may ask? that's what i thought the first time i heard the term. there is a cool site called crop chocolate. they have random deals on crafting/scrapbooking/stamping stuff that change ever day, sometimes many times during the day. a while back, they decided to have a design team, which they call chocolatiers. they are sent a box of goodies from crop chocolate and have to create something out of the items. i was one of the lucky ones to be accepted as a chocolatier. i received a box of goodies last week and this is my first project officially as a chocolatier. so be watching on cropchocolate.com and you may see my stuff! i case'd this from the amuse blog. there was the cutest card over there and i knew i wanted to try it. it fits perfect for the reason i made this card, which i can't reveal until the recipient receives it or it will spoil the surprise. that's why the two middle sections are blank. i'm going to add photos there. when i have given the card, i'll post it again with the pictures and the reason for sending it!

ice cream, ice cream...

sometimes i think ice cream should be its own food group. except vanilla. which is just a waste of time. ice cream is made out of milk, so that's good for you, right? oh wait...there's the cream part... i love this ice cream cone stamp from kim hughes at chf. (that's cornish heritage farms, not congestive heart failure for all my work friends!) it's a great stamp to paper piece with, which is what i did. then i added a little glossy gloss to the cherry on top! and some sprinkles of course.

ice cream, ice cream
stamps: kim hughes, purple onion, river city rubber works
cardstock: melon mambo, creamy caramel, heidi grace pp
ink: melon mambo, frost white all purpose ink-tsukineko
embellishments: prismacolor markers, glossy accents

new bedroom stuff...

so i finally feel like a grown up. for the first time in my adult life, i have a matching bedroom. no more pieced together collections. no make shift nightstands from an old microwave cart or bookcase. no more laundry baskets full of clothes. 5 pieces that actually match. and are so cool. and thank goodness it all fits in the bedroom. it's amazing how different things look on a showroom floor than when it gets put into a room. but it fits, and i love it all!! can't wait to go to sleep and see what difference a nice mattress makes! i'm still in sticker shock at the amount it all cost. and for how much bedding is. so i skipped the whole matching everything and got a new duvet cover from ikea. works for me!!

bridie diggs...

the whole time while i was making this set of atcs, i was singing "make a little birdhouse in your soul" by they might be giants. i found this paper (lime rickey by basic grey) and bought only one piece, not really sure why, since it's so stinking cute! i used fun flock on the trees and noticed the holes in where i used the glue pen after i put the flock on. but i think they add a little touch of character to the atc! the theme is birdhouses.

cardstock: green galore, basic grey pp

embellishments: fun flock, prismacolor markers

celebrate sunshine part ii...

my friend leeann wanted to buy some cards. she choose the celebrate sunshine atc that i made. i simply put it on a card base rather than reinventing the wheel. i think it makes the card more elegant looking with the simple white background.

sprockets...

i joined a robot swap with my friend chris. why? i have no idea. that's what i've been asking myself the past week or so while trying to figure out what to do. i found this cute sprockets paper at michael's and it made me think of the old snl sprockets routine. "we shall dance." but of course i couldn't figure out how to make that work. so this is what i came up with.

for some reason, i couldn't sleep this morning, and was up at 7am (on my day off!). so i hit my craft room early and got inky making cards. i've made so many atcs lately, that i had to get my mind working on something bigger than 3 1/2 x 2 1/2! i made a few of these for a lady at work who wanted some eastery cards.

bling birdie...

i saw this cute stamp today at robert's (lss) and envisioned some cute rhinestones added for some bling. then i remembered i had this cute glitter stack from die cuts with a view that i haven't used in ages. and viola. my atcs for the bling swap i'm hosting!

add to the list of the many reasons i hate glitter. it's messy...especially when you spill it!

take me away...

sometimes there is nothing better than a good soak in a hot tubbie full of bubbles. especially after a long day at work or a cold winter day. yesterday was the cold day. even though it's the middle of march, there was a freaking blizzard today! so i created this atc wishing that the calgon would take me away! i'm sad you can't see in the picture the glaze pen on the bubbles...makes them look more realistic.

take me away!
stamps: my favorite things, stampin up
cardstock: purely pomegranate, cloud 9 pp

everyone's irish...

for a day, that is! i've got irish in me. my grandfather was from donegal. i would love to go there someday. i've been to dublin and cork and it was so neat!! this is an atc for an irish themed swap i'm hosting. i used a technique i haven't used very often, but it works so well. i inked the sentiment with versamark, then inked it again with certainly celery. this way, you can emboss an image using any color and clear embossing powder. it's awesome!
