happy birdie...

h{ippity} hop time! must be monday. i made another birthday card for the hop. i'm hoping that if i start making more of these bday cards, it will inspire me to send them more often. i know it's a stretch, but i suck at mailing bday cards. i used all new colors from stampin up for this card. i love cherry cobbler. for those that know me, i declared red riding hood my favorite red of all time when it came out. well, i might have to eat my words. this might take over! but enough of that...hop on over to the beginning of the h{ippity} hop and see what all the {ippity} lovers have made. also, don't forget that new {ippity} stamps come out on thursday!

blankets for the troops...

my friend nancy is involved with a very cool project called blankets of hope. they have volunteers that make fleece blankets and send them to combat support hospitals all around the world. with each blanket they make, they need a note card to attach to the blanket. the volunteers write a little note to whoever is going to be receiving the blankets. nancy is in charge of the notecards, so she asked those of us on the stamp shack if we wanted to help. the response was amazing!! her goal was 350 cards, but i think that she may be getting more than that! here are the cards that i made to send in.

happy birthday...

do you know what time it is?? no, not tool time...it's time for friends with flair! it's a fun little blog hop that happens each friday. a bunch of stampers who love all things unity make some sort of creation and post it on their blog. one of the bloggers has the friends with flair blinkie. if you are the lucky winner, you win 25 unity stamps! (then you'll become obsessed like the rest of us!) so play along! start at the beginning and take a stroll through the blogs. i broke out the july kotm for this week's card. my finished project is NOTHING like what i started out making, but i like it anyway. i experiemented with some colors i usually don't put together and tried out my new tim holtz styled labels movers & shapers die. i just altered it a bit. i don't think he'd mind, isn't he the king of distress? the inside of the card says "happy birthday". i love this new pear pizazz from su. it's a great shade. well, have a good weekend!
